As part of the effort to tackle climate change and environmental sustainability, Obri Komfo Freedom Empowerment a Non Governmental Organisation which was named after Prophet Okomfo Anokye collaborated with The Kingdom of Asante and the Kwahu Traditional Council on CP3(Clean to Prevent and Protect Project) under the auspices of Omanhene of Kwahu Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II

The aim of this project which took place at Kwahu Traditional Area in the Eastern region of Ghana on 7th-9th April, 2023 was to educate the general public about Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change in our environment. Environmental Sustainability is a concept that refers to the ability of an ecosystem, institution or system to maintain itself over time in the face of human pressures. Moral understanding and concern for sustainability has been increasing in recent years, and the concept has been broadly introduced in various academic fields, business and policy circles.

This project featured three(3) major activities included general public health screening, clean up exercise and tree planting exercise which took place at Kwahu Abene, Kwahu Abetifi and Kwahu Mpraeso.

Traditional rulers who took part in this project was Omanhene of Kwahu Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Omanhemaa of Kwahu Traditional Area Nana Adwoa Gyamfuaa III, Krontihene of Kwahu Nana Simpe Owiredu, Nana Kwadwo Akuamah Dadiehene, Akyeamehene Nana Aseidu Kwaben Assembly members, Volunteers from Obri Komfo Freedom Empowerment, Members of The Kingdom of Asante, Assembly members and other chiefs in the Traditional Area. Some Traditional rulers under Kwahuman pledged to donate lands for tree planting exercises under various communities under Kwahuman.

On 23rd May, 2023, Obri Komfo Freedom Empowerment will be at Kwahu Traditional Area again to engage schools on CP3(Clean to Prevent and Protect Project). Setting workshops in schools to educate students about proper way of seperating waste(4 in 1 dustbin, food, glass, paper and plastics), tree planting exercise within Kwahuman and the donation of 4 in 1 dustbins.

Introduction of clean up exercise within schools and communities at the end of every three(3) months.

Obri Komfo Freedom Empowerment will also engage students from schools from Kwahu Traditional Area to embark on the afforestation on 5000 acres of bare land to turn into Forest and preserve 100 acres of Forest for the next hundred years to improve climate sustainability. Kwahuman will then introduced bye laws for every household to plant a tree and put measures for Real Estate Companies to improve Climate sustainability.
